Solutions for common paint failures

Blisters

Blisters or bubbles in dry film.

Cratering

Pinholes on dry film.

Efflorescence

The powdery white salt deposit left on masonry surfaces (concrete, brick, stucco) after water evaporates. It typically acts as a severe, destructive force on paint finishes and presents as a cosmetic issue but quickly escalates to causing physical damage by breaking the adhesion between the paint and the substrate.

Fading

Bright yellow, orange and red pigments tend to fade sooner compared to oxides. UV exposure attacks the pigment structure leading to a loss of colour or change in hue ( undertone.)

Masking

Photo degradation of an exterior coating

Imperfections

Non uniform marks on prepared and finished substrates.

Parapets

Early weathering or moisture build up on parapets.

Picture framing

A non-uniform, colour & sheen variation or poor opacity appearance.

Poor Opacity

Uneven obliteration.

Rising damp

Damp usually does not rise higher than 1.2m from ground level.

Rust or Flaking Paint

Mild and galvanized steel.

Snail trails

Streak marks on newly painted exterior surfaces.

Stain marks

Yellow / brown or black stains.

Structural Cracks

Due to settlement, age or movement of structure.

Tile Roof

Flaking paint or loose particles on tile roofs.
