Cratering

Pinholes on dry film.

Cause / Prevention / Tips

  • Adhere to specified spreading rate and drying time of coating.
  • Do not apply coating too thick or wet on wet.
  • Avoid painting over substrates with a surface temperature below 5°C.

Remedy

  • Sand to a uniform, smooth and stable surface.
  • Repaint entire surface from corner to corner.
